I have to admit since we decided to get married, I have been a teeny bit obsessed with diamond rings. I am such a nightmare when it comes to choosing my rings. My fiance can certainly vouch to that.
My first ring, one that is given to me during the merisik ceremony, is a beautiful wafer-thin gold band. And it comes with its own story. This is how it looks like.
It is actually quite difficult to find these types of rings here. You cant really get it at the mainstreams jewelers like Habib or Poh Kong. You could, however, get these custom-made by them. You can imagine my frustration when looking for the ring. I think we started ring-surveying around 2-3 months before the merisik ceremony. My fiance was a bit annoyed with my stubborn-ess. Tanak compromise langsung. Hahaha. I ended up going ring-surveying with Mom because I didnt want to drag my fiance around and getting all upset for not finding the ring! A bridezilla, I was :p. After a looooong time searching, we (Mom & I) found the ring!!! At Fa'iq Jewels. Ahhhhhhh ♥. We should have just gone there first, because I have always known that I wanted to get my engagement and wedding rings from them. Hee. So, now on my ring finger, I have one gold band that I absolutely love!!
The second time around, we just went straight to Fa'iq for my engagement ring. I love their selection. And I just love the fact that they can custom-made any kind of rings to fit with our designs, concepts and of course, budget. I chose a gorgeous solitaire with tiny diamonds by the side as my engagement ring.
Of course, this ring too comes with the drama. When we went to purchased the ring, we brought along a whole troop with us. Mom, Aunt, Mom's friend and two cousins came with us. See, I was already in love with a ring that I saw earlier. But, when we were there, I was torn between a few rings. And it didnt help that Mom and Aunts had different ones that they love. Rambang mata gila! I took a looong time to just choose the mounting! My fiance was, surprisingly, chilled. Haha, I think he just didnt want to stress himself out and just let me do my thang. Whenever I asked him for his opinion, he just said to choose whichever that I love. Eceh, cara cerita macam boleh choose any rings that I love, price is not an issue like that. Of course la tak, we have already discussed the budget beforehand. I'm not like Reese Witherspoon in Sweet Home Alabama, when her fiance told her to choose anything she likes from the jewelery store. I wish. InsyaAllah, someday la kan Py? :p So, yeah, I finally chose the mounting that I originally had fallen in love with. And I am glad that I did. Because I cannot take my eyes off my ring! Hahaha, it's just so shiny and gorgeous! Heee, sudah beberapa kali kena honk sebab terlalu asyik tengok cincin sendiri tak sedar traffic light dah hijau/kereta depan dah jalan.
And next month, we are going to get our wedding bands!! So exciteddddd! I think this time around, its going to be easier for me, as I'm just going to get a band that matches my engagement ring. Just need to put in more effort in finding the ring for my fiance. I'm sure with all our ring-buying experiences, it will be a breeze this time around. *wink*
Oh, yesterday, I told my fiance this;
"Nanti after kahwin, I'm going to pujuk you to get me another ring to match my gold merisik band".
He just stared at me with disbelief. Apparently, he didnt find it funny. Hehe, sorry Py, I lied when I said I'll never asked for another ring anymore. But of course, you know that right. ;)
