Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal

Since being on the 25 Weeks to A New You challenge, I have changed the way I eat. Previously, I have tried so many diets - no carbs, the fruits only fast, juice fast. All worked but none are sustainable. You know it didnt last since I'm still trying to loose weight now. -___- This time around, I want to do it right. I want to make it my lifestyle. Therefore, I have learned to eat clean most of the time but also allowing me to eat "sinfully" whenever I feel like it. The key is moderation. So far, I have been able to eat good. I prepare my meals now; breakfast and lunch are packed from home and I try to eat out less. Ironically, I suddenly do not crave for desserts, sweets and salty food much these days. I guess my sore muscles are a great reminder of the hard work that I had to put in just to burn 300 calories! To make this a lifestyle, I want to make it simple and easy for myself. I want the quickest and simplest meal to make but also packed in taste and nutrients...

Acme Bar & Coffee

Beautiful ambience. So bright and cosy. Love the floor to ceiling glass windows.  I'm sure most of you have heard of this lil' cafe called Acme Bar & Coffee or ABC, hidden in an apartment building called Troika, very near to KLCC. I love this place especially because of its ambience. I just LOVE their decor. Very industrial chic. And they serve really good food too, so that's just an awesome combination. Just last Friday, Sherly and I went to ABC for an after work coffee date. We walked there, since it's super near our office. With the after-the-rain weather, we berangan like we were walking in London. Until we tried to cross the road and no one is nice enough to stop for us, that is! Haha. Anyways, we shared the apple & olive oil cake and the sizzling brownie & oreo ice cream. Both so good! But, the brownie takes the crown lah, simply so so good. Sherly took photos of the food but they're just too ugly too share. You might as well goog...

Me'nate Steakhouse, Ampang

So I did some living life tonight. Haha. Went to Me'nate Steakhouse in Ampang tonight. It's located at Jalan Kolam Air Lama Satu, on a row of shophouses next to 7-Eleven, if I remember correctly. This is my first time here. I heard about this place from my foodie uncles. They went here a couple of weeks ago, and whatsapp-ed me photos of what they were having. -____- The steak looked so so good. And since then, I've been wanting to try some. And since my mum didn't go with my uncles in the previous trip (only my sisters went), she was also very eager to try the wagyu. The photos my uncle sent.  So, off we went tonight. Okay, don't expect a fancy restaurant. It is really a simple restaurant with barely there aircond and no ambience. So, no need to dress up in your best pearls, like I did. Sister forgot to mention this. Pfft. But what they lacked in ambience, they make up in their steak. We ordered the wagyu tenderloin and grass-fed sirloin in medium well...

*Omnomnomnom*

Helppppppp! My appetite is crazy these days! I eat, and eat, and eat, and eat summore. No exercise only means that I am so BIG now. *sob* I don't look at my wedding pictures anymore because it's too depressing. Where did that skinny girl go? Do you not-so-newlyweds go through the same thing too? No motivation or determination to lose that weight even though you know you are so FAT? And even after knowing that you are so FAT, it doesn't stop you from eating that huge chunk of Cadbury's chocolate bar or finishing off that slice of Red Velvet? Urgh. Have you no control Miss?! And as I'm writing this, I'm really craving for this. Picture taken from website What is wrong with you?! Grrrrrr....

Wordless Wednesday

B&J's

I've been craving for expensive ice cream for weeks now! So, I've made a pact with myself that if I work-out every single day next week, then I'll treat myself to that ice cream. I hope this will motivate me to exercise harder! After all, I've only got 2 months, 2 weeks and 1 day(!!!!) to get that toned body! Aiyak, might as well just scrap the ice cream. :s But, I would seriously kill for a tub (or two) of these babies! *drools* Yummmmmmmmmyyyyyy!

Yish Sakae Sushi!

I feel obligated to tell everyone what I've discovered last week. Remember this the next time you plan a visit to Sakae. I called them one of the days last week to confirm if the food is indeed halal. The issue came up when my colleague mentioned that Japanese restaurants usually puts alcohol in the rice that makes up the sushi. So, bila dah ragu-ragu, I called Sakae to confirm whether or not they practice this. The lady said that Sakae has received the Halal certification for their poultry. And they do not put alcohol in their sushi rice. However, they DO include alcohol in their noodles soups; ramen, udon and the likes and in their sauces like in their teriyaki sauce. I'm bothered with this fact as there is no mention of anything alcoholic in the menu. Paling kurang pun letak la small disclaimer. So misleading!! I don't know if this is a common practice amongst all Japanese restaurants. I can only confirm for Sakae Sushi. Yang lain tu, Waalahu 'Alam.
