Birthday Photobooth: Mickey Mouse

The Sunday before Ramadhan, I did a Mickey Mouse-themed backdrop for a sweet 1-year old boy's party. He had spent his actual birthday in the hospital that week and his mom wanted to give him a nice birthday party. So, that's how I came into the picture. Hehe. Remember how I fell sick after our Yogya trip? Yeah, I had the lousiest timing to fall sick! That week I was so swamped. Work at the office was piling and I had the photobooth to work on. Thank God I had designed something that was simple and doesn't require much effort. And my friend, Azzahraa wanted something small. So phewwww. I only managed to focused on the photobooth on Saturday, one day before the party! I had put in a bit of time before, whenever I felt a bit better or whenever I'm not asleep from the meds, to do some prep work. Thankfully, I got to deliver a complete and beautiful (if I may so, haha!) backdrop that Sunday. I had fun doing this job actually. It was simple, doesn't take muc...

Cute Paper Bows

Trendy. Pretty. Cute. Chic. Geram!  How cute are these paper bows?  I am obsessed! Idea is from How About Orange and she is too kind to provide a free printable template for these babies. So easy, this literally can be done in 2 minutes!  I can imagine so many ways to style these bows, that if I sit and think of the possibilities, I would have just hyperventilate myself! :p You can do solid colours from all the colours of the rainbow, mix and match the colours, colour blocking (!!!!), pastel...... Cannot take the excitement!  And that's just colours! The possibilities are endless for this simple but versatile bows.  Go check out How About Orange now and start bow-ing! :p One of the ways to style them. Great for parties. p/s sorry about the haziness of this photo. I think I need a new camera.  All photos belong to PinkBrolly Events. Birthday Photobooth: Sophia Nadine

This post has been in my draft as soon as the party ended, but I just couldn't finish it. I started typing out half a page, but felt that it wasn't good enough. But I thought I'd better get this done and over with. This project is one of my proudest yet. Hence, the difficulty in making sure that I tell the story perfectly. But like this project, it comes with imperfections. So, embrace the imperfections for that makes it perfect! :)   *** Yesterday, I delivered a 6ft tall photobooth. And oh, what a drama it was! *** I was asked by my friend, Deensy to design a photobooth for her daughter's third birthday party. The theme, she told me was Disney Princesses! I was beyond excited because just a few weeks before, I was thinking to myself how fun would it be to design a girl's party. So, I was all geared up for this party. She told me that her daughter, Soph loves the movie Tangled, which is adapted from the fairy tale, Rapunzel. She loves the long hair th...

Birthday Party Favours: Fatih Altaf (Part 2)

Okay, sorry for this overdue post! So, I told you how I finally figured how to make hot air balloons out of plastic buckets and paper lanterns, and what a relief that felt. For the final party packs, I actually used paper lanterns in blue and orange, instead of the white used in the prototype. I initailly wanted to glue some fun fabrics onto the lanterns, but decided to make it simple. I didn't want it to be too colourful. Takut serabut pulak. I took some twines to tie the sides if the bucket to the lantern, to give the hot air balloon a more realistic feel to it. Added some mini bunting across the bucket along with the thank you cards. In the end, I was pretty satisfied with the finished product. The party packs were filled to the brim with goodies, so I guess adalah hikamahnya I tak tukar plastic bucket tu. And here they are, in all blue and orange! And here is the final product!  All ready. Blue & Orange happiness.  Hot Air Balloon Party Favours....

Birthday Party Favours: Fatih Altaf (Part 1)

Last month, my super adorable nephew turned 1! And his mom, my cousin, asked me to do the party favours and some simple decor.  The theme was hot air balloon and I love that theme! It is such a universal theme - you can go vintage for a chic bridal shower or colourful for a kiddo's birthday bash.  For Altaf's party, we went with the aqua blue and orange colour combos. It's fun, boyish and chic.  I spent most of my time focusing on the party favours. I didn't think that it was going to take that long, but constructing hot air balloons party packs aren't easy! Haha. My idea was to use pails and balloons to make hot air balloons. So, just buy helium-filled balloon and attach to the pail, and wah-la, a hot air balloon! Sounds simple, kan? I pictured it in my head so many times, over and over again. I was confident it would work.  Excitedly went to find pails and balloons. And that's where the first hiccup started. Where do you get not-so-small...

Wedding Photobooth: Shasa & Fadzihan

This is the story of how PinkBrolly Events started. Back in December, my friend Shasa got married. And I was responsible for her photobooth. Shasa's best friend a.k.a the weddding planner, Natte asked me if I'm interested to do her photobooth way back in August/September. Of course I was interested. Up until recently, I was still not over my own wedding! Haha.  I spoke to Shasa, mostly via Gtalk and WhatsApp, of what she wants and likes, and her expectations of the photobooth. She told me that she wants it to be a garden-y theme, with pink as the main colour. So, I spent a lot of my time researching and getting inspirations from so many blogs and websites. And finally came up with a concept of a 3D tissue paper flowers, with a pink ombre effect. I showed her my amateur-ish sketch, and she gave me her stamp of approval. When I emailed her my drawings, I was sooooooo nervous!! See, I cannot draw, often my sketches look like a 3yo drew them. Heck, even a 3y...

And no, there's no bun in my very round oven just yet. Ish. It's just that I've started my own EVENTS DESIGN AND DECOR BUSINESS guys!!!!!   Isn't that excitingggggg?!! I am happy and excited and scared but mostly excited, that I'm not even writing this coherently. Haha, can you tell?  This baby of mine is called PinkBrolly Events. ( what else, right? I just love my blog's name!)   Since I'm doing this part time, I have done only two jobs so far. One is a photobooth for a wedding and the other is a one-year old birthday party. And I had so much fun doing both! I won't talk so much about those jobs now, but I promise promise that I will update more later ok?  I also have another photobooth that I'm doing for a sweet little girl...
