Wedding Anniversary #3

Whooop, 3 years already!  And this is our video highlights from our Akad Nikah on June 5th, 2010.  Some fun facts about the video;  #1 No one has ever seen it other than myself and husband  #2 They mis-spelled my husband's name. It's Syah, not SHah. Our pet peeves!  #3 Both myself and husband were so.damn.thin.  #4 Syomir and Arma have since moved from their old boutiques to swankier places now.  #5 My skin was super bad. Scars and bumps can be seen even with makeup on. I'm so thankful it's so much better now.  #6 The tok kadi was so late! And my husband were really anxious.  #7 After the akad, everyone laughed out loud at my husband's firm and "no-perasaan" way of saying the akad and his priceless look of relief.  #8 There was no official photo of my family during akad nikah because everyone was too busy! :(  #9 The tile floor was extremely hot when we ran out towards the end of th...

Power Plate

Hola! Sorry I've been so hopeless at updating. Since my last post, I have made some progress! *pats back* Bought myself a pair of running/walking/training shoes. I got the Skechers Shape-Ups Liv. And it's ohsem. That spring-y sole makes walking and running a bit more comfortable. It does need some getting use to - that spring-y sole actually works your calf muscles. The first few days of wearing them, I felt some tightness on my bottom and calf, but now they are just so comfy. So, now that I've got my shoes, I ought to be working out more right? And I have! *beams* I've enrolled myself into a powerplate class! I go three times a week and ohmygod, I love it! One session is only for 30 minutes but because you're doing squats and lunges on the vibration plate, you'll be panting and sweating 10 minutes into it. *My stamina is na-da these days* Not to forget, you'll be swearing during the session. "Why do you do this to yourself?" "Kala...

Runnnnnnnnn....

Okay, one of my personal goals here is to lose some weight. After almost a month here, I haven't started on any exercise regime nor have I started dieting. #facepalm The only exercise I get here is the walks that I *have* to take wherever I go. My pedometer says I take on average of about 5,000+ steps each day. And that's not enough! I need to take 10,000 steps each day in order to shift that fat. Gah. And although I'm not dieting, at least I'm eating good healthy food. More soups, salads, vegetables and fruits. And the occasional chocolates and candies:p So, not too bad. But, I'm STILL not losing the kgs! Aih. Losing weight is no easy feat man. So, I've decided to start running. Only to realised that I don't have my running shoes *slapsforehead* Now, I'm scouting around for good, comfortable, long-lasting and not-too-pricey running shoes. For a girl who has a LOT of shoes and LOVE 'em pretty soles, I have no skill in choosing good running shoes. Pre...

ONE ♥

Today, one year ago, we became Husband and Wife. We became the Raja Sehari. We had the beautiful solemnization. And the gorgeous receptions. And now, we are in this beautiful, wonderful journey of being Husband and Wife. Looking forward to more years together. I love you, always and forever.

*Omnomnomnom*

Helppppppp! My appetite is crazy these days! I eat, and eat, and eat, and eat summore. No exercise only means that I am so BIG now. *sob* I don't look at my wedding pictures anymore because it's too depressing. Where did that skinny girl go? Do you not-so-newlyweds go through the same thing too? No motivation or determination to lose that weight even though you know you are so FAT? And even after knowing that you are so FAT, it doesn't stop you from eating that huge chunk of Cadbury's chocolate bar or finishing off that slice of Red Velvet? Urgh. Have you no control Miss?! And as I'm writing this, I'm really craving for this. Picture taken from website What is wrong with you?! Grrrrrr....

Wedding Guest Book

Okay, this is just too cool! Photo taken from Pinterest I'm gonna find a reason to organize something just to do this! TOO CUTE! DO IT! 'Nuff said.

WeddingKami

Looking for a wedding card designer? Frustrated at what you're seeing in the market? Want something simple, modern chic but at the same time doesn't burn a hole in your Anya wallets? If you answered yes to all (or any) of the above, then meet WeddingKami! They are trying to (in their own words) "revolutionize the way you're inviting your friends and family to your wedding ceremony using our Interactive Wedding Websites (or wedsites)". This is not only great for those eco-friendly-brides but also for our-generation-kinda-guests-who-are-not-so-technology-resistant. I mean, already we are inviting our friends via facebook, why not take a lil' bit of effort with a wedsite. It's more proper, don't you think? And you can go crazy designing your wedsite! This can be an extension of your wedding theme. Like if I were to do mine back then (I did consider WeddingKami btw before I got lucky when Mom's friend decided to sponsor the wedding invite...

Wedding Disaster

Yesterday morning, I listened with horror at how this girl's wedding turned out disastrous! This girl, Nabila just got married last weekend. And a lot of unfortunate things happened to her, but the worst, in my opinion, was how she didn't have a MUA for her akad nikah!! On her nikah day, her MUA called her to say that he couldn' t make it because he's down with high fever!! Ohmygod, if I were in her shoes, I would have freaked! Seriously, what do you do?! Thankfully for her, her sister is a part-time MUA. Mana nak cari last minute MUA?! The good ones are booked months, even a year before! This never crossed my mind when I was preparing for my own wedding. I never thought that MUAs could ditched you at the last minute because of a sickness or emergency issues. I thought once you've paid the booking fee, then all is well. I'm not saying that MUAs aren't human and can feel no pain. But, hello have you heard of bridezillas?! *waves* They are unreas...

Loooookkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!

*cryyyyyyyyyyyyyy* This would be so perfect for my Moroccan-themed reception last June!!!! Urgh. Just imagine this cake against my pelamin? Gorgeous kan?! I didn't have a cake during mine. We had a pulut kuning instead. And now, I'm kicking myself for not caring too much about my cake. Pfft. I should stop browsing through wedding websites. Because this will happen! Sheesh.

The One Who Got Away....

No, no, not talking about any ex-bfs here. Chill chill :p I'm actually talking about the photog that I didn't get. Pre-wedding day, I did a *LOT* of research on various photographers. I only knew two things then; One - I've always wanted SN to do my reception (and He DID !) And Two - I want 2 different photogs for my Akad and Reception. My thinking was I would like to have different styles for the different events. So takde la nampak semua sepesen. But, of course, hiring different photogs from different companies for different events only means one thing - MORE EXPENSIVE! So, since I knew SN would be doing my Reception, my mission then was to find a photographer for my Akad Nikah. After browsing through websites over websites over websites, I found one that I really really love! They are Kudegraphy ! Their work just caught my eye! Their style is very distinct from the mainstream photographers. Their photos are just one of their kind. And really, they are just refreshingly ...

♥ Shutterspeak ♥

Forget Manggis! Shutterspeak is so IN! Don't believe me? Check it girls! Don't you just love the cinematography? Homaigod! Everything looks a hundred times prettier in the video. And I love that I remember exactly how I felt on my Akad when I watch the video. And how it puts a smile on my face. And how my heart goes all warm and lovey-dovey when I hear my Husband pronounce the Akad. And how I want to watch it over and over again. That, I think, is what makes a good video. :) Kudos to Zaidan and his team for producing such a wonderful video, one that I will forever cherish! Are you girls jumping to call Zaidan yet? :p

Inai-ed!

One of the things that I was so excited about before getting married was wearing the inai. I did my research and searched everywhere for the most perfect inai lady. Funnily, I only started looking actively nearer to the wedding. So all the blogger-approved inai ladies were already booked! Eventually, I found one inai lady who does beautiful designs, free hand! She is Nabila Jamel - the person responsible for Ning Baizura and Serina Chef Wan's beautiful henna. I have no complaints other than her inai doesn't last! She said that it could last up to 2 weeks with proper care - minimal contact with water and slathering the inai-ed part with minyak cap kapak. Well, I did my best to do both. But, the design on my palms were gone completely after my reception. Have a look; I love love the colour! Exactly how I imagined it to be. Pictures are taken a day after. Notice the inai did not stick to my nails. Apparently, its because of the mani-pedi that I did. So, we bought I...

The other side ;)

Whoops, I've been so engrossed with my own reception that I just realised I haven't put up any pictures from Husband's side. We had two Majlis Bertandang; the formal one for FIL's friends and associates and the other more relaxed one especially for families. Kekeringan idea nak menulis, so sila la menjamu mata :)

Photograher Extraordinaire

There's none other than Saiful Nang! At least in our eyes.:) Engaging SN to be my wedding photographer is one of the best investment I made. We've received some of the photos already and we are blown away! Personally, I think SN's strength lies in his eye for the tiniest detail. And that is exactly what I want in a photographer. I want the different emotions, that gorgeous detailing of the pelamin, those little beads on the dress to be captured. For those are the moments that I want to be able to remember. The man himself is very down-to-earth and friendly. We went for a night photography (so so fun!) after the reception. And SN was very patient in directing us stiffboards! Okay, enough photog-crush-talk! Nah, enjoice ;) Oh, and try to control those drooling *wink* I absolutely heart the last picture! SN did an amazing job capturing the different emotions on our faces! Just fabulous! Are you still drooling? Don't say I didn't warn ya! *wink*

Same Ol' Same Ol'

I'm back on! With the same layout, blergh. For a while, I kept my blog private because I wanted to revamp the layout. But, as emails kept pouring in (eceh, macam banyak :p), asking for permission to view the blog, I thought I'll just make it public again and work on the layout bit-by-bit. So here I am. I've been getting emails asking for more pictures of my reception. So, I'll do that first for now. I will give you a full-blown details on all of my events one fine day, InsyaAllah. That fine day I think is when I get that Imac! Hehe. So for now, feast your eyes!

Hello Mr. & Mrs!

We are marriedddddddddd!! Alhamdullilah :) *Just a short update to remind everyone that I'm still around ;) haha* For now, I'll leave you with a sneak peek of our Akad. Bak kata Saiful Nang, Enjoice! *wink* *Love* Credit to Syomir Izwa for the beautiful baju kurung, Rizman Ruzaini for the simple yet gorgeous tudung and Sue Cantik for the exquisite make-up. Thank you for making me gorgeous! Hehe.

Countdown - 6 days!

Oh-Em-Gee!! Less than a week to go! Excited, nervous and cannot wait to get over the wedding! Hee. What did I do for the past 2 days? My gfs threw me a surprise bridal shower yesterday! It was awesome!!! Had sooooo much fun with the girls. And they threw such a gorgeous partay! Oh how I wished that didn't have to end :p These kinda of things makes me loveeeeee being a bride-to-be. Hehe. After the awesome bridal do, I went to Ikea with sistas. Our mission? To get mirrors for the bilik pengantin and dewan nanti. Got 2 of them for less than rm200. Cheapo kan? And today, I went for my reception dress fitting at Rizman's. Ohhhhh, love love the dress! And the whole look that RR created just now was just uh-ma-zing! Hopefully we'll recreate the look again on the real day! After that, went to Fiance's house for a full dress fitting. Make-up and hair sekali. Oh my bajus for Fiance's side kena alter banyak! Hehe. I nak cakap I dah kurus la tu :p And that was my weekend! Tomor...

Countdown - 1 week & 1 day

Haaaaaaaihhhhhhhh!! Hatiku sangat berdebar-debar sekarang! Just came back from meeting my wedding team who will be coordinating the reception nanti. Went through the running order with them. And I'm hoping that the reception will run accordingly and smoothly!! I'm actually nervous! Takut sangat kucar kacir! But, I've got a great team helping me out. They are all Cardiffians :) and I trust their event management and organization skills! I'm leaving the flow to them! And hopefully everything goes on smoothly, InsyaAllah. I'm hoping that my family can co-operate with my wedding team. I need to brief everybody on how it will be etc. Serious, bridezilla okay!! But, I am finding it very hard to let go of control! Argh. So just bear with me okay? Seminggu je lagi! Haha. Oh oh, went to pick our wedding bands!! So cantikkkkkk! I felt a bit sad masa amik cincin tadi since tak tau la bila lagi nak masuk jewellery store kan? So I told Fiance that I was going to cherish that mom...

Countdown - 1 week & 2 days

Fuuuhhhh! Penaaaaattttttttt!! I had an extremely long day today! I was still working today. Cuti officially starts tomorrow. Weehoo! I kept on saying to my friends that today is my last day at work as a MISS!! Hehe. I'm pretty sure I sounded like a broken record! But my friends and department mates (boss included!) are the sweetest! Layan je karenah I! Hehe. Over lunchtime, I went to see Adib of Arma Wedding Couture. Sent my hantaran items. Pheww, glad that's sorted! Will pick them up on Friday nite. Then, after work I went to Syomir's to take the extra material for my tudung. Fiance's baju nikah pun dah siap and dah ambil! Hehe. Mine will be ready next week! After Syomir's, met up with Zaidan of Shutterspeak to discuss the concept of our video nanti! Am actually very excited to see how that will turn out!! And now here I am, dead tired and cranky! It's past my bedtime already! Nitey nite!!
