Burned Out

Hi guys, It's really getting more and more difficult to update this ol' blog of mine. I just wasn't in the mood to share anything in the past few months, but today ahhh the mood to write strikes. :) I actually wanted to share with you guys about my Yogyakarta trip. I had all the posts written, in my head, when I was there. But, they remained in my head and now I've forgotten all about it. And since then, I've been to Japan for work, did some fun parties for PinkBrolly Events and more. -_____- Today, as I was stuck in the massive jam (what is up, KL?!) I thought about what I want in my life. Yeap, deep thoughts to entertained in the evening. Truthfully, I am feeling so blergh with my job. See, I'm a scholar and I'm currently serving my bond. I have two more years before this bond ends and I have been weighing in on my options. After 6 years in the investment world, I can safely say that I do not have any passion for it. Sometimes I like what I do, but...

June, month of awesome!

Hello again, my favourite month of the year! June is an eventful month in our lives - my birthday, husband's birthday and our anniversary! So, yay June is here! (and pressies too, haha) Till later, xx

Happy Birthday Jid!

My friend, Jid turned 29 today!! She's on maternity leave now, having just given birth to her second (!!!) son 3 weeks ago. Today, a few of my friends went to her house to celebrate. I couldn't be there as I had a few events to attend today. *sob* But, the pictures that my friend posted looks beautiful. Natte made a rainbow birthday cake and it looked absolutely divine. To my dearest J, hope you had a wonderful birthday. I pray that you and your lil family be blessed always with boutifuls of rezeki and happiness. Here's to a lifetime of friendship! Love you xx A I think I should stop before you cringe and puke. When I say you, I dont mean you my dear readers. I meant her, the girl who's heart is made of steel. Hehe. I kid, Jid. :p

Futuristic, what?

That was the theme of my company's annual dinner.  -______- What are you supposed to wear to a futuristic-themed dinner? Without looking like Lady Gaga. I wanted to be part of the theme without looking like a weirdo. Googling gives you all kinds of crazies. From transparent  glow-in-the-dark top to what look like a kuali on top of your head. Sorry, but no thanks. What I came up with was an all-black ensemble, with gold glitter detailing on my shoulders and neckline. The tunic top looks a lil' bit like the Star Trek uniform, which is quite cool. All by chance, I didnt intend to wear something from the movie. Paired it with a black jeggings, and voila, I had a chic futuristic outfit! I didn't want to spend so much for the dinner, so I did my own hair and Sherly did my makeup. It turned out pretty good. *pat on the backs for us* All in all, I had a good time dressing up. And to see the other people who went all out with their outfits. Seriously, you should hav...

Live life.

I was reading Ashley Ann's blog the other day and was amazed at the things that she does! She is really living life to the fullest. Doing the 'Color Run' with her second son, rearing chickens, growing a herb garden; all on top of taking care of FIVE YOUNG KIDS! I have NO kids, and I go home after work and slob on the couch/bed/chair watching tv/play on iPad/play on iMac. *shameonme* And with two basket-fulls of unfold laundry by the corner. *shakeshead* Sigh. I dont remember being this lazy before. And this has got to change.  I'm going to live life to the fullest from now on. And it's going to start tonight! Dinner with family at Menate for some wagyu beef. Now, that's living life. :p p/s will let you know if the place is worth going or not ok. Have a fulfilling weekend guys!!

Happy Birthday, Reese!

Pretty lil' lady, Reese  Ahhhh, it's my "baby" niece's 7th birthday today! How time flies. It feels like only yesterday that I got the call that my cousin has given birth to a chubby, cute and sweet baby girl. I was in my second year of university then! Ooh, I'm getting old. I remember when I got back from the UK that summer, I visited her almost every single day. She was such a good and happy baby. I cannot even remember the time where she had cried or threw a tantrum, because there was almost none! It is impossible not to fall in love with Reese. Her cuteness is not only on her appearance but also her chatters. Ohhh, her chatters will leave you dumbfounded at times. She is wise beyond her age. Recently, she told my mum that I need to start a family because if not "it will be such a lonely life" when I get older. MasyaAllah, only God knows what goes in her mind. I still cant believe that she is seven already. In my eyes, she will always...

Hello 2012!

HAPPY TWENTY-TWELVE! Our New Year celebration is a quiet one, this year. We stayed home, made grilled chicken sandwich and salad with honey mustard dressing while watching Matt Damon in The Adjustment Bureau. A few minutes before the clock strikes 12am, we could hear the fireworks starting. And at 12am on-the-dot, the fireworks just went crazy. It was so ohsem that it lit up the skies, with colours blue, yellow, red and green. We did not have a full-on view from our balcony; we actually saw the reflections from the neighbouring condo. Haha. But, it was all good. The most important thing is that I welcomed the new year with the most important man in my life :) Here's to a happy and healthy 2012!

Malaysian-ised Summer Picnic

Back in the UK, we used to look forward to summer. One, because exams are usually over and you'd get to have all sorts of fun and two, because you get to wear summery clothes and go for picnics! So, two weeks ago, the SATC gals had a summer "picnic" here in KL. It was actually done in my condo. Because it's just too hot to be sitting out under the scorching sun! :p It was a potluck thing - I made beef stew. Dido made the yummiest fruit smoothies, Iman the dessert queen made pavlova and trifle while Tasha and Amily cheated. Tasha, as usual, made her Mom cooked. Thanks Aunty, seperti biasa makanan Aunty memang sedap! And Amily BOUGHT mee kari, pfft. And this is one girl who can actually cook up fabulous meals! Well, she got lazy after she came back, hehe. I cleared out the space in my living room and laid out my polka-dot tablecloth. Put flowers in small vases and scatter them around. It really felt like we're having a picnic in Cardiff especially with the c...

Summer Picnic

The flowers are sitting pretty in their vases, oozing the colours of summer! And the beef stew is on the stove simmering, releasing all their summer goodness. Now, just waiting for the SATC girls to arrive and our summer picnic starts. Will give you a full update after we're done with the fun!

Friday Bliss

Chocolates, my fav bangle and a package from Fashion Valet to put a big fat smile on my face on a Friday! And this is what's inside; My very own Tri-os Candy Green studs. Amaze-balls! Happy weekend and happy ber-open house gals! xx

Baby oh Baby

Welcome to the world, Baby Nazrin! This precious lil' one belongs to one my closest friends, Dina . Isn't he the cutest baby ever? My heart just melts whenever I see his face. When he just came out, I kept on staring at that cute lil' face! Ahhhh...*love* Aunty Ad loves you baby! Now, I'm just anxiously waiting for my other friend to give birth. Anytime nowwww....*excited* I cant wait to have my own baby. One day, insyaAllah.

It's a BOY!

And a surpriseeeeeee! Confuse? Hehe, that was the tagline of the baby shower that my friend, Natte & I organised for two of our close friends, Jid & Dina. The theme of the baby shower was rainbow! And I went all anal & annoying, making everyone who attended to wear one colour from the rainbow. We did it during Friday lunch at The Social, G tower. Despite my crazy & now-very-demanding job, I managed to pull through the baby shower with the help of my great partner, Natte! *kiss* So, here are some gorgeous pictures, taken by my gorgeous fren, Natte. The decor.... I painted the "It's a BOY!" "& it's a SURPRISE!" signs. It was pretty easy and am pretty happy with how it turned out! :p We also bought some colourful lollys and stuck it in a clear vase stuffed with shredded coloured papers. The teddy bears and rainbow windmills belong to Natte's SIL and son. Hehe. The celebrated.... This is Jid, my super-creative friend ...

Lebaran 2011

Are you girls thinking of your baju(s) raya yet? I have. And I also have sent a few kains to the tailor for a simple kurung. I'm also planning to get one or two ready-made baju later on. And I'm eye-ing these ones from Jovian. All pictures taken from Jovian Mandagie's Facebook page These are my absolute favourites! Love the black & white, horizontal and vertical stripes! So so chic. And very wearable. I hope they aren't too expensive, so that I can get one (or two). If you like them too, check them out at Jovian's boutique in Bangsar. That's where I'll be going soon!

27

I turned 27(!!) today :) I had an awesome birthday - woke up to birthday (and anniversary) wishes from families and friends, was given my friend, Natte's reserved parking spot ( I didn't have to go all the way up to park, as per usual), had a yummy tuna cheese sandwich prepared by my other friend, Dina, was surprised by a sweet delivery by my Husband, had a superb birthday lunch celebration with the rest of my batch (complete with "domestic-goddess-themed" cupcakes and a basket of chic pressies from my dearest friends) and finished off with a lovely birthday dinner with my family at Meatworks! Thank you to everyone who wished me via Twitter, FB, Gtalk and texts. Each of your wishes really warms my heart :) I'm thankful for everything and everyone that I have in my life. I'm one lucky girl. This 27 yo is definitely happy! *love*

If you are looking for simple but classy wedding shoes, head on to Neva Shoes in Ampang Park. They sell beautiful shoes without breaking your wallet! You can get peep-toes with a little diamond for around rm100. Cheapo, right? Here are some that I sneakily took on my BB camera; Sweet, no? Very worthy for your wedding! I don't even wear my reception one anymore - it's sitting collecting dust (and space) in my shoe closet!! Oh, and the SAs are very very friendly. They will keep on asking you if you want to try whatever shoes that you're looking at in your size. Haha. So funny. But, don't worry, they're not the you're-breathing-up-my-neck kind. So, Neva Shoes, Ampang Park for sweet shoes for your pretty feet!

Floral Feet

Dear Bridezillas, Are you tired of stressing over your wedding planning? Why don't you take a break from it all, and focus on the fun part? You want? Yes? Great! Let's talk honeymoon! I found these really cute sandals, from Pinterest (where else but my current fav website!) which would be so so great for your beach honeymoon. Cute kan? Cuba imagine pakai sandals ni dengan white dress dekat Koh Samui. Aloh, sweet sangat. Memang tengok terus tau newlyweds. Awhhh.... *dreamy* And if you think beria sangat nak beli sandals baru untuk honeymoon, trust me, you would want to go that extra mile for your honeymoon. Bila lagi nak merasa perasaan di awang-awangan?! Hehe. Stress lagi tak? Sure dah kurang kan? :p Love love.

Too Gorgeous!

Can someone please make a dress like this! Pleaseeeee? I absolutely LOVE this girl's dress! It is beyond gorgeous. It's breathtaking. This is wayyyyyyyyy more beautiful than mine. And the back is just uh-mazing! The dress itself is beaded all over, but because the design is oh-so-simple, it exudes a vintage chic aura. *double like* It's love at first sight - me and that dress! Seriously, girls, for my sake, make your wedding dress like this? *pleading eyes* All beautiful pictures taken from StyleMePretty

Shoes Shoes Shoes

Have you girls found your bridal shoes yet? No? Here are some ideas (and tips along the way) ; This was what I wore during my nikah, It was a very comfortable peep toe, embellished with the extra kain from my baju, custom made especially for my feet. It was done by Syomir Izwa and it was matchy-matchy with my baju for the day. I felt that the matchy-matchy-ness was fine for the nikah, because I wanted to create a sweet look. I didn't want to be outrageous, I wanted simple and soft. So, that worked! I love love this pair. In fact, I still use it now. So, this one was definitely worth my money! *thumbs up* TIPS ONE: Oh, Syomir told me that for a petite girl, like myself, it is so much better to wear peep toes to make you appear less petite. The peeping of the toes (haha, this is the most perfect way to describe 'em) actually make you appear taller! The shoes that I wore during my reception, on the other hand, was drop dead ugly! And it was soooo uncomfortable. I think the size ...

Bollywood-Style

Inspired by my friend's wedding saree, I went searching for this beautiful material. And look at what I found! This one just.takes.my.breath.away.! It's white and heavily beaded, perfect for a simple baju kurung. I would probably use this for my akad nikah. That is if I had another chance of doing my wedding all over again :p This light brown+gold-ish sheer saree screams GLAMOROUS! Imagine that for your reception dress, with some gold detailing, you can be one glamorous bride! *love* I love this grey beaded saree as well. Very very chic! And the best thing about grey? It matches a lot of other colours to bring out different moods. Like if you pair it with this pink saree for your bridemaids/entourage/family members, you'd achieve a very chic but sweet look. Just look at that detailing at the bottom! That's just grand!! I would probably use this for my tunang. Oh, or baju raya also nice! Hmmmm...*thinking* The last two sarees would be nice either for an engagement do...
