SSF Carpets

Yesterday I dragged my husband to SSF Curtain Bandar Sri Damansara to have a look at their carpet collections.

I know that they carry modern carpets since I got our existing one from there almost 3 years ago.

In the car, my husband said, "I think we're gonna find one here!"

Well, he was too optimistic. Because we left without a carpet. Sigh.

This time around, SSF had a lot of those shaggy ones. Not my cup of tea. But, I notice that they are of really good quality as well, feels soft and lush. So if you're looking for those shaggy ones, go on to SSF. They were priced from rm1000+. Didn't check the exact pricing since I'm not into those shaggy kinda carpets.

I found two designs that I like. And one that I was totally in love with. But they were all wrong. Sizing, colour, style - all does not fit into our home.

This one is really lush. You can't really see it from the picture, but the colour of the roses are a mix of black, beige and grey. I love that you can see the rose individually. It's such a unique piece and my husband really loves it. That guy doesn't easily like stuff, so this is like the highest of endorsement. Hehe. But, the size is a bit too small for our living. Hence, no go. This beautiful piece goes for rm4500+ if you're interested.

And this one, I like that it's not your normal rectangle or round carpets. The flower-y outline gives the carpet a unique shape. I imagine this piece in a black and white baroque-themed study. It's very Va-Va-Voom. Definitely doesn't fit in my cozy homey woody living. Oh this was selling for around rm899, if I remember correctly.

See that detailing? Beautiful.

And this would fit perfectly in our living, 'cept for the colour. Sigh. I really LOVE this. It's the modern designed carpet that I have in mind. The size is like our current carpet, about 7ft by 5ft. Too small on its own, but two of them would be perfect. And there were two of this exact carpets!!! The universe was just not on my side on that day. There were none in duck egg blue. MAJOR bummed. Price for this was a reasonable rm900+.

If only this is in duck egg blue. :(

And so, the search for the perfect carpet continues. Much to my husband's disappointment.

Crates Crazy!

Ohmygod!! This is exactly what I was thinking of doing for our home office!!!!! Ahhh, and to think that I got the inspiration without looking at any pictures/blogs/etc. I feel like I very creative like that. Anyhoos, mine hasn't materialized yet because I haven't found the crates in KL. I called up one of the wine shops (simply because they are the ones that use crates and would prolly have them) in Desa Sri Hartamas, but they said they don't keep theirs. ??!! I have to say, tho, that I haven't been trying hard enough. I could just drop by and ask from all these wine shops, Cold Storage etc. Okay, I am now driven to do so. After looking at the beautiful end product! Wish me luck in my search. If you know where I can get them, do tell! Thank you. Photo taken from Pinterest

Yogyakarta, Indonesia

We are going to Yogyakarta for a short getaway, yay!  Husband and I have been talking about going away during our Month of Love since we got married, 3 years ago. We finally get to do so this year since there no cousins/relatives getting married this time around.  Since I don't have a lot of annual leave (-___-) we decided to go someplace near. Husband loves the hustle and bustle of citylife and I've been wanting to see Borobudur, so Yogyakarta is the perfect destination for us!  Aside from Borobodur, we haven't done our research yet as to what we want to see and do there. So any inputs from you would be awesome!  I'm also looking forward to staying in the hotel. One thing about me is that I LOVE myself some fancy hotels!  And the place we are staying at is just that. In pictures that is. I hope it's not one of those 'indah khabar dari rupa' type.  Here, check it out.  Lobby Poolside Deluxe Room  Pretty, ...
