Fairy Lights, Orchids & New Carpet

Hi guys,

We're in the last three days of Ramadhan already. How time flies! I pray that our ibadah will be accepted by Allah and may we continue our ibadah even after Ramadhan ends.

The past few weekends, I have been slowly prepping our home for Eid celebrations.

I put up some fairy lights last two weekends and oh-my-God the ambience it created was just super awesome. I have always love the ambience and feeling that fairy lights exudes. It's just so magical and romantic.

Whenever I walk by the hallway now, I feel like I'm in some enchanted forest somewhere. Haha. Ye, berangan lebih.

Ahh, super love.
That weekend too, we finally found our carpet! Hoooyeahhhhhhhh. I don't know who is more excited over this - myself for finally finding the carpet or my husband for the end to my constant whining. :p

Anyways, we found our carpet at the least expected place; Jalan TAR! Yeap, the place famous for its Jakels and Gulatis has a whole stretch of carpet shops.

And buying before Raya means huge discount! We got ours at a steal - rm650 down from rm2000+. The size we got, a 7' by 10' fits the length of our living perfectly. I would have preferred as slightly wider carpet, but that was the biggest they carry. But, I'm still happy as the design, colour, material, thickness and price were perfectly in sync with what we have in mind.

The new carpet. Pretty, right? I'm very aware that my house is very brown. Need to paint furnitures pronto!

These carpet shops carry quite a decent range of modern carpets. I couldn't decide because the carpets are so beautiful everywhere I look. I shortlisted the ones I really love and just let Husband decide in the end.

And today, my mum and I went to the Orchid Farm in Lake Garden for some orchids. Usually, I would buy some fresh cut flowers from either Petaling Street or Floristika. But, the problem with these flowers is that they die after a week. What a waste of money!

I figured this year, I'm going to try some indoor house plants. And the only flower that came to mind was orchids.

I got 6 orchids of different varieties for our home. 3 for the dining, 1 for the living and 1 each for the two bathrooms.

Orchids, orchids, everywhere.
(Am thinking of painting that display cabinet on the left yellow. What do you think?)

And what a difference these orchids make! They instantly make the space livelier, I'm not even kidding.  I just hope that they won't die on me. I'm not the greenest thumb out there. Plants always die on me.      -____-

I think I'm done prepping. I want to paint some of the furnitures in our home but that's a long term plan. For now, I'm happy!

And that's a panoramic view of our dining and living areas. Just to give you a feel of our home. :)

Selamat Hari Raya!

Fashion Styles: Blouse

If you have been following me on this blog, you’d probably know that I’m such a girly girl. I just love being a girl. Seriously, what’s not to love? We have the best in fashion. Fashion is dedicated to us, women! From hair bands and clips to shoes and stockings, and everything in between.
I had many fashion phases growing up. The “Clueless” inspired fashion; checkered pants, preppy blouses and small furry backpacks, short dresses with platforms ala Baby Spice and so much more. But, as I grow older, I stuck to a classic and simple style. My husband loves it when I’m dressed in a simple skinny jeans/pants and blouse. And that has been my staple since I got married. I admit – I would love to be more adventurous in my styles (like in my younger days) but I don’t think my husband can tolerate that. Lol.
Over the years of experimenting, I have learned what’s good on me and what’s not, what I like and what I dislike. I prefer blouses; smart casual mostly to cotton tshirts. After turning 3…

Hello Rizman Ruzaini, Bye Bye Syaiful Baharim!

Shocking kan? After my last post on Syaiful Baharim.

So what happened?

Ok, yesterday evening me and mom went to Jakel to get the lace. Sampai je Jakel, pegi la kat tingat kain exclusive tu, focus hanya untuk mencari lace. I wanted a simple, CHEAP, non-beaded lace. Any kind, asalkan cantik. The SA who helped us, who happens to be the owner and Mom's friend, mestilah tunjuk yang beaded Solstiss je. Without a doubt, Solstiss lace IS exquisite. Memang tengok muka automatically berseri-seri, bibir tersenyum-senyum. But, boy, the price! MasyaAllah..!

I was actually quite good; I actually said NO because the laces that she showed me are all very expensive, jenis ribu2 PER METRE! And I was looking to buy 4 metres of lace! So I said to Kak S (the owner), I prefer the simpler one, no beads, tak payah la Solstiss2 ni. So, she showed me some, plain, simple and sweet, I didnt have a problem getting just that.

Kak S: Who's your designer nanti?

Me: Syaiful Baharim..

Kak S: Oh, Syaiful. Di…

Inspired by my friend's wedding saree, I went searching for this beautiful material.

And look at what I found!

This one! It's white and heavily beaded, perfect for a simple baju kurung. I would probably use this for my akad nikah. That is if I had another chance of doing my wedding all over again :p

This light brown+gold-ish sheer saree screams GLAMOROUS! Imagine that for your reception dress, with some gold detailing, you can be one glamorous bride! *love*

I love this grey beaded saree as well. Very very chic! And the best thing about grey? It matches a lot of other colours to bring out different moods.

Like if you pair it with this pink saree for your bridemaids/entourage/family members, you'd achieve a very chic but sweet look.

Just look at that detailing at the bottom! That's just grand!! I would probably use this for my tunang. Oh, or baju raya also nice! Hmmmm...*thinking*

The last two sarees would be nice either for an engagement do'…
