Fashion Styles: Blouse

If you have been following me on this blog, you’d probably know that I’m such a girly girl. I just love being a girl. Seriously, what’s not to love? We have the best in fashion. Fashion is dedicated to us, women! From hair bands and clips to shoes and stockings, and everything in between. I had many fashion phases growing up. The “Clueless” inspired fashion; checkered pants, preppy blouses and small furry backpacks, short dresses with platforms ala Baby Spice and so much more. But, as I grow older, I stuck to a classic and simple style. My husband loves it when I’m dressed in a simple skinny jeans/pants and blouse . And that has been my staple since I got married. I admit – I would love to be more adventurous in my styles (like in my younger days) but I don’t think my husband can tolerate that. Lol. Over the years of experimenting, I have learned what’s good on me and what’s not, what I like and what I dislike. I prefer blouses; smart casual mostly to cotton tshirts. After tur...

#20facts

So, I've been tagged by Sherliza from ziggy zig ah   to do this fun but also time-wasting game. LOL. And here goes. I'm very manja. If you know me, you'd probably know that.  I think I'm hilarious. Even I laugh at myself sometimes. Haha.  I'm generally a positive person.  I also have very high self confidence/self esteem. I genuinely think I'm pretty. (Another example is #2 :p)  I never had and don't have any issue with me being short. Again this relates to #4. Most people would think that I do, but meh being short/petite is pretty awesome.  I do have issues with me being fat. This generally happens once a month when I see a photo of a slim woman in skinny jeans. It also coincides with my time of the month. Hmmm.  Although honestly, I don't think I'm thattt fat. #internalconflict I am obsessed with designer handbags, which I think is going to be my (or my husband's) downfall.  I also have developed a love for diamonds after I got...

Glitch

If you see that my blog is looking a bit wonky, that's because stupid me did it! I deleted some of my photos on my Google drive which are on this blog and now it's all gone. Am working on fixing this glitch. Just bear with me, please.  Thank you and see you with hopefully a new look!

#prayformh370

Tonight, we mourn for the loss of those on board MH370. Tonight, we cry with the families. We have been hopeful. We had prayed for a different ending. But, Allah knows best. " It is He Who gives Life and Death; and when He decides upon an affair, He says to it, "Be", and it is." (40:68) May God grants peace to those who perished and may God ease the burden of those carrying this terrible heartache. Ameen ya Rabb.

Burned Out

Hi guys, It's really getting more and more difficult to update this ol' blog of mine. I just wasn't in the mood to share anything in the past few months, but today ahhh the mood to write strikes. :) I actually wanted to share with you guys about my Yogyakarta trip. I had all the posts written, in my head, when I was there. But, they remained in my head and now I've forgotten all about it. And since then, I've been to Japan for work, did some fun parties for PinkBrolly Events and more. -_____- Today, as I was stuck in the massive jam (what is up, KL?!) I thought about what I want in my life. Yeap, deep thoughts to entertained in the evening. Truthfully, I am feeling so blergh with my job. See, I'm a scholar and I'm currently serving my bond. I have two more years before this bond ends and I have been weighing in on my options. After 6 years in the investment world, I can safely say that I do not have any passion for it. Sometimes I like what I do, but...

Fairy Lights, Orchids & New Carpet

Hi guys,  We're in the last three days of Ramadhan already. How time flies! I pray that our ibadah will be accepted by Allah and may we continue our ibadah even after Ramadhan ends.   *** The past few weekends, I have been slowly prepping our home for Eid celebrations.  I put up some fairy lights last two weekends and oh-my-God the ambience it created was just super awesome. I have always love the ambience and feeling that fairy lights exudes. It's just so magical and romantic.  Whenever I walk by the hallway now, I feel like I'm in some enchanted forest somewhere. Haha. Ye, berangan lebih.  Ahh, super love.  That weekend too, we finally found our carpet! Hoooyeahhhhhhhh. I don't know who is more excited over this - myself for finally finding the carpet or my husband for the end to my constant whining. :p  Anyways, we found our carpet at the least expected place; Jalan TAR! Yeap, the place famous for its Jakels and...

Stay: Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta, MGallery Collection

Salam my dear readers, Sorry I've been slow in updating this month! I've been cooking every single day, making up for the rest of the months that I dont. Haha. So, continuing with our Yogyakarta trip. We stayed at one of the most awesome hotels in Yogyakarta. As you may recalled in this post , I was hoping that the hotel wouldn't just be indah khabar dari rupa (beautiful only in pictures but meh in real life!). And thank you God, we weren't disappointed. As we stepped into the hotel, we were greeted by a floor-to-ceiling glass doors, which made the medium-sized lobby light and airy. Check-in was swift and the front desk staff were all very courteous and helpful.  The reception desk was made out of wood, beautifully carved with typical Indonesian motifs. Behind it stood a large wooden sculpture, also carved intricately.  Lobby of Hotel Phoenix, Yogyakarta. As you move into the hotel, you would see these designs repeating itself. It's cl...

Birthday Photobooth: Mickey Mouse

The Sunday before Ramadhan, I did a Mickey Mouse-themed backdrop for a sweet 1-year old boy's party. He had spent his actual birthday in the hospital that week and his mom wanted to give him a nice birthday party. So, that's how I came into the picture. Hehe. Remember how I fell sick after our Yogya trip? Yeah, I had the lousiest timing to fall sick! That week I was so swamped. Work at the office was piling and I had the photobooth to work on. Thank God I had designed something that was simple and doesn't require much effort. And my friend, Azzahraa wanted something small. So phewwww. I only managed to focused on the photobooth on Saturday, one day before the party! I had put in a bit of time before, whenever I felt a bit better or whenever I'm not asleep from the meds, to do some prep work. Thankfully, I got to deliver a complete and beautiful (if I may so, haha!) backdrop that Sunday. I had fun doing this job actually. It was simple, doesn't take muc...

Ramadhan Kareem

Salam Ramadhan to all of my Muslim readers.  Firstly, please accept my sincerest apologies if I had offended any of you via my writings in this blog. If you know me personally, please also accept my apologies for any wrongdoings that I may have done, whether intentionally or not.  Every Ramadhan I pray that I will become a better Muslim. Be strong enough to fight the worldly temptations and strengthen my ties to my religion and my God.  This year, my doa remains. And I ask that you remember me in your prayers.  May we have a blessed Ramadhan and may we continue to be faithful even after Ramadhan.  Amin.

The not-so-Amazing Race

Thursday, June 27th 2013 will always be a date that I will remember. That was the day we took off to Yogyakarta for a lil getaway.  Our flight was a morning one. 9.45am to be exact.  Stayed up late the night before to pack and to play Candy Crush -_____-  Woke up late at 6.30am the next morning. And rushed like crazy, so we could leave the house to KL Sentral by 7am.  Called for a taxi to come at 7am, went downstairs to our condo's lobby at 7am, and there was no taxi!  Husband called the taxi company and was informed that the taxi had came and left!!!!! Husband was furious. Called for other cab companies and no taxis were available that morning. Great!  So, we took our car and drove to my mom's (thank God we live so near each other!) so she could dropped us off in KL Sentral.  Got to KL Sentral by 7.30-ish and waited in the blardy connecting bus to LCCT for 30 minutes before the bus finally moved at 8am!  Reache...

Hey Mickey!

Just dropping in to show you the progress of my Mickey Mouse-themed backdrop.  Ta-daaaa!  Mickey Mouse  There's still quite a bit to do. Gotta work it since the party is on Sunday! Wish me luck, peeps.  And watch this space for the full story later.  As Mickey says it, Toodles!

Yogyakarta to Kuala Lumpur

Hi you guys! I have just recovered from a fever post-holiday and is still getting over this nasty cough. We got back from Yogyakarta on Sunday night and holiday-withdrawal-symptoms quickly kicked in. I should be applauded for getting into work on Monday! Anyways, I'll update more on our trip soon after I'm done working on a photobooth for a lil' toddler's birthday party this Sunday. Till then, toodles!

Countdown to Yogyakarta

2 more days before we leave for our short trip to Yogyakarta. I am really looking forward to go. Haven't had a proper holiday in months! With the horrible haze that's engulfing us these past few days, I'm hoping that the weather in Yogya is fresher. One of the sights that we wanted to see is Dieng Plateau. Dieng, as the locals call it, is a volcanic area that is 6,000 ft above sea water! There is about 8 small Hindu temples on the Dieng and that is also such a sight to see. Well, on Google Images, that is. I won't be able to show you pictures of my own because our tour guide just informed us that access to Dieng is now limited to due to road works. -___- Our tour guide says that we can still go to Dieng, but would have to change vehicle nearer to the place, which we find quite of a hassle. So, we decided to give this place a miss. Dang, if not I could have shown you a picture like this! Photo taken from Lonely Planet

Pesto & Tomatoes

The other day, I had wholemeal bread with homemade pesto and fresh cherry tomatoes for breakfast. And it is so awesome. It's like a burst of freshness in your mouth. And sticking to my principle of easy and healthy, this meal checks both boxes! Will post up the recipe soon. Off to watch some good tv with my husband!  Have a good Friday night guys!

Kwerkee - Indian Rugs

Okay, my quest to find the perfect rug/carpet has not ended, by the way. Nor have I forgotten about it. My bare living room floors are my constant painful reminder. Urgh. I'm subscribed to a lot of home decor and designs websites. And one of them is Kwerkee . This website is a sister website to Reebonz , the members-only shopping site for designer handbags and goods. Kwerkee works on the same principle, only they sell quirky (hence the name, get it?!) home and decor stuff. And now they are currently having a sale for Indian rugs! The colours and designs of the rugs are so beautiful! See some of my favourites, These carpets come in two sizes - 3ft by 5ft and 4ft by 6ft. I need 8ft by 5ft -_____- Oh well, not my rezeki. Maybe yours? Better hurry, these are only available for one more day. Your rug will be custom hand tufted for you after they have received the order and delivered in 21 business days. Prices are rm750 for the smaller one and rm1,035 for the bigger o...

Cotton On Tees

I'm in this phase where I love that relaxed yet chic look of T-shirt and jeans. I've always had this notion that T-shirt is meant for home and doing sports. So, my tees are mostly baggy ones that do not flatter a woman's curves. Until I saw celebrities rocking the T-shirt look. They look so effortlessly chic. And more importantly, they look so comfortable. I'm slowly collecting good quality tees which flatter my body. I was browsing around and saw that Cotton On has quite a collection! 1. Ampersand Tee , on sale now at RM15  2. Minnie Mouse Tee , on sale now at RM37.50 3. Owl Tee , RM59 4. Sequin Aztec Tee , RM59 5. Aztec Grey Tee , on sale now at RM15 6. Edgy Black & White Tee , RM59 7. Relaxed Tee , on sale now RM15 8. Slouchy Grey Tee , RM59 9. Studded Tee , RM59; promotion 2 for RM80  Love all of 'em. These would be great to wear on our Yogyakarta trip also.  Head on over to Cotton On for affordable clothes. And they...

Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal

Since being on the 25 Weeks to A New You challenge, I have changed the way I eat. Previously, I have tried so many diets - no carbs, the fruits only fast, juice fast. All worked but none are sustainable. You know it didnt last since I'm still trying to loose weight now. -___- This time around, I want to do it right. I want to make it my lifestyle. Therefore, I have learned to eat clean most of the time but also allowing me to eat "sinfully" whenever I feel like it. The key is moderation. So far, I have been able to eat good. I prepare my meals now; breakfast and lunch are packed from home and I try to eat out less. Ironically, I suddenly do not crave for desserts, sweets and salty food much these days. I guess my sore muscles are a great reminder of the hard work that I had to put in just to burn 300 calories! To make this a lifestyle, I want to make it simple and easy for myself. I want the quickest and simplest meal to make but also packed in taste and nutrients...

How I Got Rid of My Acne

I've had troubled skin ever since I was young. I was one of those unlucky girls that had pimples all over my face and body.  I went on so many facials - Dermalogica, Sothys, Philip Wain - you name it, I did it. I tried so many products - Lamer, Shiseido, SKII - all expensive but none worked. And finally, I took Roaccutane for 6 months just prior to my wedding. It worked temporarily, but once I stopped the pimples came back with a vengeance. However, it did clear up my back acne up till now. So, yay for that! While watching my wedding video for this post , I was SO shocked to see that my acne was so severe. I didn't notice in the photos since they're all airbrushed. And I actually forgot that it was that bad! No wonder I never leave the house without concealer then! Towards the end of 2011, I was looking for acne treatments. I remembered I was really stressed out with my skin condition. It was then that my sister told me about acne.org At that time, my sister w...

Get Fit with POPSUGAR Fitness

Day 6 of 25 weeks! Remember my motto now - "Move, eat well, live well" I am so proud that I have been moving every single day since Tuesday. After a year of not doing vigorous exercise, it was really difficult to exercise. But, I am determined. I powered through and kept on with the exercises. I was looking for a short but intense workout that I can easily fit into my schedule. And I found this - popsugartvfit on YouTube. They have a variety of workouts, mostly 10 minutes each. So, I do this before I go to work or after dinner sometimes. These exercises should be easier to do once my fitness level increases. But , for now they work. I have done three of their workouts already.   Belly Fat Blasting Workout, Tone Abs This workout targets your core, but it's not your normal sit-ups exercises. The exercises in this video combines cardio and abs. So, each workout targets your abs while increasing your heart rate. So you burn fat and tone your tummy. Awesome, kan...

Happy Birthday, Us!

Last weekend, Husband and I celebrated our birthdays. I turned 29 on the 8th and he turned 30(!!) on the 10th. So, we had a mini birthday celebration weekend with our families and each other. It was nothing special, just going out for meals and spending time alone. As I grow older, I realised that I don't need the big, fancy parties or dinners anymore. I just want to spend it with people that matter - my families and my closest friends.  Anyways, here is some snippets of what we did on our special days.  The day before, celebrated with the most amazing Chocolate Cake from Just Heavenly.  8th June 2013 - Brunch with my family, sister #2 is missing. Boohoo. But, I guess she'll just bring pressies later. Haha. Went to Jid's baby #2 akikah. Babies melt my heart. Later that night, watched Jurassic Park at the GSC Signature.  9th June 2013. Celebration continues. Spent the day together, doing all sort of things. We were the same age for two day...
